The challenge:
Beneath the streets of Dublin a battle is raging. Water from rain, rivers, tides and waste systems are kept from flooding streets by a network of gullies, drains, sumps and pumping stations. Intel and Dublin City Council deployed a new set of sensors to monitor and alert on current rainfall, river and canal levels, water flow rate, tides and weather. Dublin City Council engineers need to react quickly when there is a possibility of a flood.
The problem is that with so many data inputs it can be difficult to make sense of what’s coming in.
